Wen-Wei: My name is Wen-Wei Sun 

Robida: My name is Nate Robida 

Wen-Wei: I heard that you are going to run your fathers business after you graduate. What kind of business is that? 

Robida: My father is a general contractor and he does a lot of different stuff. He develops house, but one of the main pieces of business is septic system installation and repairs. So I have been working with him for the past few summers on getting my license for septic system installation. So hopefully after I graduate, I will be able to take over his company and move on from there.

Robida: So I have a major in Strategic Comm and a minor in Writing and Publishing. In my major, I have done a lot of web design classes, you know creating websites. So, one thing my father never did was advertise. So, I think I can build the website for myself and have that as a form of advertisement. I can generate a ton of business that way. As for writing, every person I have spoken to tells me that in their line of work, they write all the time. Regardless of what they do – sending Emails, writing memos. So, what I learned in my writing minor, I never struggle to draft an Email. I know how to Write a proper sentence. Express my thoughts property over writing that will really help me as well. 

 

Robida: Another aspect of the contract I am going to get is Seawall repair. So, a lot of people on the coast of Connecticut have seawalls to protect their houses and lawns. It is a kind of untapped market. A lot of people do repairs on them. And I have a couple of jobs lined up this summer I want to do. And what I plan to do is take out a quarter page in the ad market like Clinton and Westbrook. Just made a little logo on seawall repair, So I built on the advertisement as well as building my website.

Robida: I worked with my father for a couple of summers now. He was taking me ou t to work on whatever he worked on when I was younger. My oldest brother is an accountant, he does not want to have anything to do with this. But my other brother is also trying to get into this business as well. So, we might team up.  But we clash heads sometimes so, we'll see.
